What sort of problems?
What sort of problems can be helped with counselling?
Counselling aims to address all the problems of psychological survival and coping.
Sometimes pupils will say that they didn't feel their problem was serious enough for counselling and that they didn't want to be wasting the counsellor's time. Talking to someone at this stage is often the best and is to be encouraged.
Approximately 140 pupils avail of the service each school year.
If it is appropriate referrals can be made to other services in the community. I will discuss this with you if it seems the best way forward.
