Extra-Curricular Activities

Pupils are encouraged to take part in wider school life. A variety of extra-curricular activities are on offer including choirs and orchestras, a Drama Club, driving lessons, Scripture Union, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Youth Bank and a range of sporting, dance and gymnastic clubs. The school minibuses facilitate visits to other schools, sporting and community events and field study centres.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Our school has a varied programme of activities that provide an outlet for existing talents or for girls to explore new interests. All activities are designed to be fun and offer the opportunity for pupils to feel part of the whole school community. School clubs and extra-curricular activities on offer are:

After School Club
This is a fun environment where pupils can access help with homework and projects.

School Productions
This year pupils are working towards a production of High School Musical. Rehearsals are held each Tuesday from 3.30-7.30pm

Art Club
An open club to allow pupils to continue personal or school projects.

Astrogazer
For those who want to reach to the stars we have Astrogazers club weekly during term.

CEWC Club for Education in World Citizenship
Senior girls meet together to hear speakers and discuss affairs in other countries. They also take part in debates with other schools.

Computer Club
This club meets at lunchtime to give pupils the opportunity to become familiar with computers.

Drama Club
Pupils have the opportunity to take part in drama activities.

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Girls may enter the scheme at Bronze level (age 14), Silver (age 15) or Gold Level (age 16). There are four sections - Service, Skill, Physical Activity and Expedition. Expedition training is after school on Thursdays and expeditions are at weekends.

Rock Challenge
The year 14 Performing Arts class are running a Student Led Rock Challenge, which will culminate in a performance at the Waterfront Hall at the end of March. Rehearsals are every Thursday & Friday after school.

Editorial Team
Members meet each week to discuss, investigate and produce articles for the school's on-line e-magazine.

These groups have an opportunity to perform in school at the Presentation of Certificates, the Carol Service and Musical Evenings. They also take part in events in the Community.

Pony Club
Girls have an opportunity to learn about horses by watching videos and going out on visits.

Scripture Union
The SU group meet for fellowship, Bible study, praise and outings.

Sociology Club
Senior School Club to discuss current social affairs.

Sports and Recreation Clubs
Teams practice each day after school for the following activities:

  • Hockey
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Football
  • Dance & Aerobics
  • Cross-country
  • Athletics

There are also fitness clubs for those wishing to improve their fitness.

Youth Sport
Junior pupils join P6's and P7's from the local primary schools for coaching in gymnastics on Tuesday evening, from 6pm-7.30pm.
There is also a Trampoline club for all levels of ability, on a Monday evening from 6pm-9pm.

Toplink
This is a Youth Sport Trust programme for Year 11 young leaders who organise and coach a Sport Festival for Primary School Children.

Walk-a-Month Club
A Saturday walk every month encourages Junior pupils to take an interest in outdoor activities.

Young Enterprise
Involves pupils in competitions based on creative activities with a slant on business and communication skills.

Youth Bank
A pupil committee meets to allocate grants for pupil-led projects. This encourages economic awareness and citizenship skills.
