School Reports
Pupils will receive progress and summative reports at various stages throughout the school year.
Progress reports:
Years 8, 9, 11 – at the end of the Autumn terms
Year 10 – at the beginning of July
Summative reports:
Years 8, 9, 11 – at the beginning of July
Years 10 & 12 – at the beginning of March
Years 13 & 14 – reports are received in late March, early April
At Key Stage 3 pupil attainment is graded according to the following:
- Attainment & progress are very good for year group
- Attainment & progress are good for year group
- Attainment & progress are average for year group
- Attainment & progress are below average for year group
- Attainment & progress are well below average for year group
Effort will also be on the A - E scale:
- Very Good and sustained effort
- Good effort
- Satisfactory effort
- Unsatisfactory effort
- Unacceptable level of effort
At Key Stage 4 pupil attainment is graded according to the following:
A*, A-C - Excellent to good grades
D-G - Average to below average grades
U - Ungraded
Post 16
Year 13 - For the Main report in January/February Attainment grades will be as for 'A' level.
A - E - Pass grades
N - Narrowly failing
F - Fail
Year 14 - For examinations and tests GCE 'A' level grades as above will be used for Attainment as appropriate. The Chief Examiner’s Report in each subject usually contains information about how the grade boundaries are defined.
