School skirts - have your say!
21 January 2008
Belfast Model School for Girls prides itself on its high standards of uniform. The cooperation of the girls during the recent uniform, jewellery and make-up blitz has helped to keep these standards high.
For many pupils across Northern Ireland, school uniforms are not popular options but at the Girls' Model, we believe that a smart school uniform helps our pupils to feel part of the school community and helps them to feel proud of being a Model girl.
Student Voice and Student Council are offering all our pupils the chance to have their say about the uniform they will be required to wear from September 2008. Three options of school skirts will be shown to each year group throughout January, starting this week with years 8, 9, 11 and 13. Pupils will be asked to vote for the type of skirt they would prefer to wear. Parents have the opportunity to vote for the style of skirt they prefer at www.virtualgms.org/parents and staff are also being given a vote. The skirt with the most votes will be the one that pupils will wear from the start of the new school year.
Student Voice and Student Council would like every pupil at the Girls' Model to be involved in making decisions that affect school life. Here's your chance to have a say - vote for your favourite school skirt and be proud to wear the Girls' Model uniform.
