1953
1950s
Building of new school started in Dunkeld Gardens.
1954
First students enrolled on Wednesday 1st September.
1955
First Open Day held.
1956
Official opening by Lady McDermott on 22nd June.
1957
Boys' School Opened;
First trip abroad (to Paris).
1960s
1960
Pupils' charity fundraising began.
1961
Boys' School Opened;
First trip abroad (to Paris).
1962
Assembly hall built and opened by Lady Mayoress Mrs Wallace.
1963
Visit to school by missionary Gladys Aylward.
1966
Pupils and staff attend literacy lectures at Central Hall, Westminster.
1967
Miss Craig retires as Principal; Miss Kerr takes over.
1968
First Open Evening held in May; History Society visit Ulster Folk Museum.
1971
1970s
First male teachers appointed.
1972
School exchange trip with Hjadstrup School, Denmark.
1973
Extension building opened.
1978
Visit to school by Dame Margaret Miles.
1979
Silver Jubilee Celebrations; Visit of Lord Mayor Bell.
1980s
1984
Extension building (later the Kerr Building) burned on 23rd December.
1985
Junior school moved to Ballygomartin Building.
1986
First Sixth Form formal at Magheramourne Hotel.
1988
Miss Kerr retired and Mr Greenwood took over.
1989
Back on one site; Craig and Kerr buildings named.
1990s
1994
School given first of two charter mark awards;
40th Anniversary.
1995
Visit of Secretary of State, Sir Patrick Mayhew.
1997
Senior Choir sang in The White House on St Patrick's Day.
1999
Mr Greenwood left to join Belfast Education and Library Board.
2000s
2000
Mr Graham appointed Principal.
2002
Schools curriculum award presented.
2004
Year of celebration to mark Golden Jubilee.
2006
Awarded ICT Specialist status.
2009
Laying of foundation stone of new school in June.
2010
Old school demolished; New building opened on 2nd November.
2014
Diamond Jubilee; Celebration of 60 years; Retirement of Mr Graham.
